More than just sports massage, Soft Tissue Therapy is the assessment, treatment and management of soft tissue injury, pain and dysfunction.

Soft Tissue Therapy treats the muscles, connective tissue/fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints. Whether caused through sport or any other lifestyle factor, the aim is to treat problematic areas by manipulating the soft tissue using massage and other advanced techniques. It also aims to identify the underlying causes of the injury and offer more long-term improvements in physical wellbeing and injury prevention.

Treatments include the use of  RockTape, Ultrasound, Myofascial Cupping, Dry Needling and RockBlades if necessary.

An alternative Chinese medicine which involves placing suction cups made of silicone on the body and creating a vacuum inside using a suction gun instrument.

The treatment increases the blood flow to the trigger points (or sore areas) in the muscles, providing important nutrients to the area that promote healing and cell repair. It also removes stagnant blood and toxins from the muscle. Due to the vacuum effect the soft tissue separates stimulating an inflammatory response which is natural process of healing. The soft tissue and fascia is gently stretched during this process, creating a relaxation effect within the muscle, this ultimately results in an improved range of motion and performance.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves a procedure in which an acupuncture needle is inserted into the skin and muscle. The therapist uses a single use thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate a trigger point in your body. The overactive muscle should respond and relax the trigger point muscle fibers and release tension, pain, pressure, and/or inflammation.

Hot Stone Massage

90 Minutes       |    £80.00

60 Minutes       |    £60.00

A hot stones massage differs from other massage treatments by using heated stones. Basalt stones are used as they are smooth and retain heat well.

A wonderfully soothing treatment, the localised heat and weight of the stones warm and relax muscles, allowing the therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort.

Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism. Clients often describe the treatment as comforting and deeply relaxing. Due to the effectiveness of the heat from the stones deeply relaxing the muscles, they are great in working with tight and chronically tense muscles. Along with muscular tension release, other benefits reported are reduced feelings of anxiety and stress, promotion of sleep, and decrease of pain in trigger point areas.
